If they are congruent, they are always similar.
But if they are similar, they are only sometimes congruent.
Congruent means same shape and same size.
Similar means same shape, but not necessarily the same size.

If they are similar then they are not congruent... they are only proportional in size

no, similar means one is oversized or undersized but the angles are conguent
the sides however are not
