Have you ever seen The Island? It's a great movie about cloning and its affect on the humanity.

If you're in a hurry and can't watch the movie, the premise is this: humankind has evolved so far that cloning is fairly easily done. The clones are not aware that they are actually, well, CLONES, and they all live in a facility run by a scientist. As the movie progresses, the two protagonist clones discover that they are not allowed to live freely, but are basically considered "property" by their real human counterparts. They go on to discover that the real reason they exist is to provide "back-up" body parts for their human counterpart, in case the real human ever contracts cancer or is in a severe auto crash, or whatever.

That's a very possible future, I think. Why else would we clone but to make extra body parts for ourselves? And what right do we have to create a living human entity and then kill it for those body parts? It's like creating slaves. I think cloning is despicable.

Well, I hope that helped.

If you use your body cells to create another copy of yourself. How do you get a birth certificate? and what rights does that person have?.

Is the original obligated to support all clone copies of themselves or will they be required to work and earn their own living. How independent will they be allowed to be from the original because of their origin..

Do clones get to vote or must they vote with the original.

Do these clones have inheritance rights, and if they are allowed to marry what rights and obligation do the families of the clone have.

And since the copy is made from your tissue can you harvest body parts if you get sick; and maybe you need a heart or lung.

These are a few that come to mind but I'm sure each of these could be developed further.

First of all this will affect the sense of individuality that people often hold on to, which will then affect genetic variation. Second, because clones are being artificially developed, they may not be considered proper citizens and then be treated worse than the rest of us. Third, cloning human beings will have significant impacts on our society and affect us psychologically

well if you started cloning people then the rich people would not only be rich but physically better in everyway... what can you tell your kid when you're poor when not only it seems that someone is better, but they actually are better?

cloning could lead to a less diverse and therefore less adaptable species

In no way whatever. A clone is simply a fancy name for what is biologically an identical twin.
