Does anyone know an algorithm that I can use to convert decimal numbers to fractions? I am trying to make a program on my calculator, so please keep that in mind when answering, as the calculator can't do many of the things that you and I could.

"Algebraically determine the symmetry of the graph of the relation."

How would I go about doing this? (The symmetries are x-axis, y-axis, origin, and line y=x) - please use my first exercise as an example:

y = x^4 - 2x^2

Thanks!

Three forces, A, B, and C, acting together, produce a resultant force of 10 N in the +y direction.

Force A is 10 N in the +y direction.
Force B is 10 N in the -y direction.

What is the magnitude and direction of force C?
Solve by the method of components.

(I don't even know where to begin! Any help would be appreciated!)
Thanks :)

A basketball player, standing near the basket to grab a rebound, jumps 76.0 cm vertically. How much total time does the player spend (a) in the top 15.0 cm of this jump and (b) in the bottom 15.0 cm? Does this help explain why such players seem to hang in the air at the tops of their jumps? Show and explain your work. Thanks and good luck! :)

If anyone could help with any/all of the following questions it would be greatly appreciated. I am so confused..

**arc_ = the inverse if you didn't know**

1. arctan(2x-3)=pi/4
2. arcsin(3x-pi)=1/2
3. arctan(2x)= -1
4. arcsin(the square root of 2x)=arccos(the square root ofx)

5. find tan [arcsec(root 5)/2]
6. find sin (arc sec(x))
7. find csc [arctan(x/root2)]

also if anyone knows the domain and range of csc(x), sec(x), and cot(x) that would be helpful too.

Thanks!

we know that there is a valence band, forbidden band and a conduction band of electrons for an atom. For conduction to take place electrons in the valence band need to gain energy and jump to the conduction band.

but say for pure silicon can an electron exist in the forbidden band?
how about for doped silicon?
