Of-course, i know its impossible, but my friend has just asked me how long it would take for a human to swim to the bottom of the deepest part of the sea. Would it take hours/days?

That depends on how fast your friend can swim. Assuming s/he goes straight down (vertically) and can maintain 3 km/h, it would take about 3.6 hours. The Challenger Deep in the Marianas Trench is about 10.9 km deep.

It would take another 3.6 hours to get back to the surface, so I hope your friend has very good lungs!

humans swim at about 5mph. The deepest part of the ocean is 6 miles.

I would imagine it would take hours - I don't know how deep the ocean is though.
