This makes me feel like our brains as humans are so insignificant.
Anyone remember back when everyone thought the earth was flat? (not personally, of course)
I can't wait until (hopefully) one day, in the future, someone discovers what's beyond us. We're trapped in such a little net of what we can comprehend.
What if the universe is like a country... the galaxy is like a state, and us, earth, is like a city.
there may be more than just one country in.... whatever it is that's so much larger than us.
It blows my mind to think of the possibilities.

I answered a question with this, and now I'm just wondering if anyone feels the same way.

The sequence of odd numbers starting with 3 is 3,5,7,9...
Consecutive numbers from this sequence can be added using the following pattern-
3+5+7+9=4x6
3+5+7+9+11=5x7
3+5+7+9+11+13=6x8

The first n numbers in this sequence are added. Find a formula for the total.

Sometimes when you square a number, the answer is plus or minus the answer, but sometimes it's not, sometimes it's only a positive or negative number, I don't understand that.

Note that a sequence of links from a higher level theory to particle physics (e.g. evolution to biochemistry, etc) in itself is a weak evidence for a reduction because of the modeling and assumptions used. Some say that reductions are too complex to prove, these links are the best we can do, so the evidence is strong. It's a strange logic. These links are strong evidence for some relationship between the theory and a more elementary one, for some kind of reduction, but not necessarily for the (standard) reduction. So, we have evidence for the successful application of elementary particle physics in chemistry, etc, but unless one carefully consider the models and the assumptions used, we don't know if these links correspond to the standard reduction.

Do you know if someone made such a study? For example, someone might have attempted to find some recurring pattern in the assumptions and models used to see if there is an indication of a special kind of reduction.

maybe i have it all wrong - just looking for thoughts from people who may know more about this subject than I do.

if the observable universe is made up mostly of dark matter, and if light is both a particle and a wave, then what is happening to all the light that is being emitted in every direction by stars?

are there any theories about all the light that is emitted but not absorbed or reflected by regular matter in the universe (not dark matter)?

are there any theories about the edges of the universe being composed of light particles or photons and such?
