Can't we use heat's tendency to rise to create energy? Doesn't it displace anything?

Take a cockroach for example! They already run fast and are difficult to kill, but now imagine it was the size of a rhino! Theye'd probably run faster than almost any sports car, and theye'd be strong enough to go about wrecking buildings and the like! And you'd probably need a heavy machine gun or rocket launcher to kill it effectively!
But now let's say rhinos were the size of bettles, they probably wouldn't last more than a week against other bugs!
Why is that? Anyone know? Thanks!

1) List all real values ofx such that f(x)=o. If there are no such real x, type DNE in the answer blank. If there is more that one real x, give a comma separated list (i.e.: 1,2).

f(x)=12+17/x-4

2)Evaluate the function f(x)=8x^2-8x+10 at the indicated values

f(x^2)=?

3) find the Domain of -3x^2-15x+12

We are having a disagreement in my medical lab class. Which of the following is an example of administering a medication? Giving a patient an IM injection or The doctor giving the patient samples of medication to take at home. Please only serious answers. It is in our book but instructor doesn't take it the same way we do. We say it is the injection but he says that is an injection not administering. He says the samples is because the patient is being given medication. Which of us is right? Please help.

In a metric space S, with distance function, d, the distance between 2 subsets A and B is defined as d(A, B) = infimum {d(a,b) | a in A and b is B}. Suppose A and B are disjoint. Show that, if A is compact and B is closed, then d(A,B) > 0. Show that this does not follow if, instead of compact, A is only closed

Thank you

I am tearing my hair out here trying to figure these problems out. I would really appreciate it if someone could show me the steps they took to figure these out. Thanks much.

1) Find all solutions of tanX - cotX = 0, where is X is measured in degrees and 0
2) Find all solutions of cscX = -3, where X is measured in degrees and 0
3) Find all exact solutions of 2cos^2x-sinx = 1 in the interval 0

I know there's a couple of 'em, but I'm hoping with some explanation I can use these three as a basis for understanding how to more. Please help me with this. Thank you very much!

Let f:R--> R be continuous, periodic and non constant, with fundamental period p. Show that, if p is irrational, then the sequence (f(n), n=1,2,3.....) is dense in f([0, p]). I was told to use the pigeon hole principle, but I'm really confused.
Thank you
