squirrel ninjas
no, you won't have seen one - that's because they're ninjas. If you meet one, be afraid.

guessing I would say horse donkey or mule(though I am not sure how common mules are in the UK) would be possibilities. Most donkeys are a little small and are not aggressive to humans but a mean jack (male) can really be quite aggressive and downright dangerous. Horse accidents are quite common but aggression has been bred out of most horses. Mules can get downright mean if handled rough though they will take a swat if they know they did something wrong hitting them otherwise is ill advised.
Here is the country more people die from horses than dogs, but the opposite is true in the city and suburbs where most of the people are. To find out for sure records with the hospitals would have to be checked and I am not aware of any work that has actually done that. Unfortunately many statistics are simply made up.

Indirectly I guess it must be the cow. Saturated fat causes a huge number of deaths through obesity and heart attacks and mostly comes from cows. Eat it in sickly quantities in beefburgers or have your chips fried in lard. Perhaps we could even add mad cow disease to the list as well?
You could suggest that fishing kills a large number also, such as deep sea fishing. (I know a fish isnt really an animal...)
Outside of the UK it is the (unexpected) hippo. People are duely cautios of something scary like a lion, however the humble hippo gets overlooked. Its fiercely terretorial and if scared on land will run direct to its territory flatening anyone in its path! In water its more a case that it will defend its territory with its massive mouth and rather large teeth, just like in the game "hungry hippos" !!

Actually, wizbit is correct. After humans, dogs kill a lot more people than donkeys, cows, sheep, horses or even critters like mosquitoes.
Little kids are especially vulnerable - about 80% of dog attack fatalities are kids under 12.

The donkey gets blamed for human fatalities that are supposed to exceed those caused by aircraft accidents!
I have no idea if it is true...but this has been going the rounds for years.

There are direct and indirect deaths - a dog runs out in front of a car, the driver swerves into another car driven by a human who does not react quickly and the first driver dies - who killed him the second driver or the dog?
