As an emergency medical technician , you are called to the home of a 13-week old boy who has become listless and is having trouble breathing. The parents tell you that he used to smile a lot but has not smiled lately. They said he has not show any noticeable facial expressions in the last 2 days. You notice the boy's eyes open but do not seem to be focusing. You place your outstretched fingers under his finger and he fails to grasps it. You lift his foot and it drops back to the mattress. According to the parents, he has not had any bowel movement in 3-4 days?

What is your suspicions based on what you have observed?

Based on this suspicions, do you start treatment at the patient's home, or should you transport him immediately to the local hospital?

What should be administered to the patient at the earliest opportunity?

How do babies acquire this condition?

Confirmation of the diagnosis will most likely be at state laboratories, guided by the CDCP, not at the local hospital lab Why?

For the demand function p=40-(5x^2), when graphing it with the settings (1.62 >= x >= 1.65) and (43.5 >= y >= 43.6), is this setting appropiate to the context of the problem dealing with the maximum point of the revenue function than graphing p=40-(5x^2) with points (0,40) and ((sqrt8),0)? Does it change the price?

I was thinking it is NOT appropiate, but I cannot explain why. If possible if someone can explain to me more easily why the answer is the way it is. Thanks for helping me out, im not sure if im getting this maximization revenue thingy.

How many moles are in the molecules shown.

1.5X10^20 (1.5 times 10 to the 20th power)

I've done the others by dividing with avogadro's number (6.02X10^23) but I was just winging it can't work this out.

I know some people who believe with a pasion that aliens do not exist. Why would somebody believe such a thing? I have heard defences like "there's no proof they exist so they must not" This may be the most rediculas thing I have heard. Any person who has ever taken a science class knows that you can't prove a negative!

I have also heard people say that aliens don't exist because earth is the only one of the 9 (now 8) planets that has life. How do we know this? we haven't been to the other 7. Even assuming that they don't have life, what about all the other billions of stars? and the trillions of other galaxies? And what about the moons in our system like Europa? Scientists believe there might be life there.

Why do people use such stupid arguments? Why would somebody base such a strong belief on so little? Why wouldn't they do their homework before making up their minds on something like this?

This is just an example. People do this same thing with many other things as well. Why?

I dont mean some magic cure of ageing. But think about this. Time is infinite, and the very unit of life (at least the life we know) is based around DNA and the cell. Now from conception, we are essentially a single cell with a very very specific sequence of DNA which WILL create us (us without any experiences or memories). So if we have an infinite amount of time, eventually, the molecule DNA, and eventually the very sequence of DNA which will create us will be produced. It has to happen eventually. This would mean that the body we know now is going to be produced many many times over throughout time. I suppose it isn't exactly us, but it is as though we are living our lives over and over again, but each time with different experiences. Seem probable? What are your thoughts?

sciences, they are thought not to accept without evidence any ideas or priciples presented in the classroom, it is on this basis that one needs to examine the evidences to see, is there really a God? an article appeared in the washington post a few years ago that revealed that the expansion of the universe has created a headache for the big bang theorist, the big bang theory is a hypothesis that suggest that there was a huge explosion of matter about 10 billion years ago, the proponents of this theory continue to state that the cosmos as we see it today is a result of that explosion and that the universe has cycled (explosion, expansion, gravitational contractio, explosion, etc.) for eons, the problem is best stated by the article itself: "in the past 30 years, astronomers have been able to account in the stars and galaxies they see for only 3% of the mass or matter that would have had to be present at the time of creation to explain the size of the universe and the way it seems to be..

Well you know how 1-9, as in numbers not age, are called single digits, 13-19 are called teens , not as in age, and numbers like 21, 22, 23 are known as twenties, then what are the numbers 10-12 called? I was just wondering !
I hope I phrased it right to make it clear.
