In a two-dimensional array, X (7, 9), with each element occupying 8 bytes of memory, with the address of the first element X (1, 1)=3000; find the starting address of the element at X (5,8).

X 9) + 7 = 43 X 4= 172 à 3000+172 == 3172 ( i.e completely 4 rows r filled , in fifth row up 7th cell is filled next cell is required address )
This is how the solution is given as , but i have no clue how this works, so if anyone could explain it would be great!!
