I have a lab to do. In order to complete the lab I need to know this. In my expt. I had to melt wax and then let it form a ball on 3 different wires of 3 different thicknesses to find out which conducts heat faster. Let the wax dry, then, put 1 end of the wire over a fire. During this, I observed all the wires. They all charred after a layer of some copper type coating came off. I was able to wipe it off with my fingures, but i don`t know why that happened.

To start a new plant, pollen from one flower has to enter an ovule in another flower. So pollen from the stamens of one flower has to travel through the air to the stigma of another flower. Sometimes wind blows the pollen from one flower to another. Sometimes bees or other insects carry the pollen on their bodies. This is why flowers have bright colours and a nice smell– to attract insects. When a pollen grain lands on the stigma, it goes down a tube called the style and lands in the ovule. The pollen cell combines with the ovule which grows into a new seed. After this the stamens and petals dry up and fall off because they are no longer needed.

i am especially stuck on the terms ovary and ovule. have i used them correctly?

it is mentioned that because of the space time curavture, we experienced things like gravity, hence planets revolve around sun and the solar system revolve round the Milky Way... But why wont we fall in towards the Sun? I mean how is it that Earth's orbit is stable and not spiral in.

Why, when you turn off a lightbulb, does the light currently in the room go away? The photons are still there, bouncing around, but they don't act the same as when the light is on. Shouldn't you see the photons still moving around reflecting off of surfaces and reaching your eyes? Yes, they can leak out in various places in the room, but say you have a perfectly sealed box of mirrors with a lightbulb inside. When you turn that light off, where do the photons go? They don't go throught the mirrors; then the box would glow, they don't dissapear; impossible, and they don't stick around; the inside of the box would be perpetually light. I want real, supportive answers based on scientific fact.
