1. the speed of a satellite orbiting earth depends only on the mass of earth and (the mass of the satellite)

2. the equations of motion are (different) for objects in orbit around earth and for planets orbiting the sun

3. orbital speed and period are (independent) of the mass of the satellite

4. if the radius of earth were changed but the mass remained the same, acceleration due to (gravity would not change)

5. as you move further away from earth's center, acceleration due to gravity changes according to (a direct) relationship

Recently, Robert Kiyosaki repeated an oft-quoted idea that flying is safer than driving (http://finance.yahoo.com/columnist/article/richricher/19601) based on the number of people killed per year in the activities.

I believe this comparison to be flawed. Another common statistic is that most auto accidents happen within 5 miles of home. This is likely to be because people do most of their driving near their home, and their brains are probably on auto-pilot when they're near home too.

Same principle with flying vs. driving. More people spend more time on the road and more people drive than fly. People driving probably have 2-3 people on average with them, and people flying have 100-200. I think a fair comparison would compensate for miles travelled, the amount of time in transit, leave out the local driving that doesn't substitute for flying, etc.

Would some stastician help me answer this question?

If it's a good question, please gimme a thumbs up!

According to the rule of 72, an investment at r% interest compounded continuously will double in approximately 72/r years. Show that a more accurate doubling time is 69.3/r years.
I am getting confused because if the formula is P(t)=Pe^(rt)
wouldn't (72/r)/(r) cancel out? But then it doesn't work.

I have been prescribed to Adderall (20mgs) for eight months and experience many side effects. I have night sweats, ear aches, irritation around mouth, nausea non-stop, etc....Also, I get tunnel vision and find myself unable to speak clearly (I stumble/mix up words).I am wondering if other users prescribe to these complaints or maybe I am just turning in to a hypochondriac. What side effects have you experienced? Will they ever go away/get better?

We're gonna do a project on elastic/inelastic collisions and we have to be able to demonstrate each type of collision IN A CREATIVE WAY. Here some things i was thinking:

for inelastic:
shooting an arrow at a target
shooting a dart at a target (if arrows are too expensive or whatever)
Using a toy gun to shoot a foam dart (Nerf gun)

Elastic Collisions:
Take two remote controlled cars and run them into each other with some action figures strapped on top just for fun.

Ok please give me some more ideas and be as creative as you can. thanks in advance
