Aspirin isn't really addicting. You may get to a point where you think you need to take it to help every little pain or ache, but there's no physical addiction component to it.

Aspirin thins your blood; it affects the platelets, which causes you to clot more slowly. If you take a lot of aspirin, you will probably bruise easily, and may have problems clotting if you have a procedure that causes bleeding (dental, surgery).

As mentioned, aspirin can cause stomach bleeding from the irritation on the stomach lining. It can also cause tinnitus, or ringing in the ears. If you get tinnitus, you know you've taken way too much.

Taking an aspirin a day probably won't cause those problems, if you take the enteric coated, but if you need to take more than that, you should be monitored by your doctor.

YES. For every single aspirin that you take, your tummy bleeds 1/4 teaspoon of blood. This is from the acetacylic acid. Ibuproferen does not contain this, yet has a lesser effect on your body. Eccessive aspirin use will eventually cause a situation similar to an ulcer in the upper right side of your stomach (where the acid collects). Aspirin will also thin your blood content - this makes it good for preventing heart attacks, but will cause you to bleed excessively over time when cut.

I don't believe aspirin has any addictive qualities

could thin the blood too much
which might make you bruise easier
and could be a bad thing if you had a hemorrhagic stroke
(but aspirin is generally a good thing to prevent heart attack and other kinds of stroke)
could cause gastro-intestinal bleeding

shouldn't take aspirin if you are planning to have surgery
