if all sides are equal
then line of symmetry equals to number of sides the polygon has

here is what some people don't realize, not only does an even sided regular polygon have symmetrical diagonal lines, but it also has symmetrical non-diagonal lines

n * 2 = number of lines of symmetry

However for odd regular polygons the number of lines of symmetry are equal to the number of sides.

so

Odd Sided Regular Polygons have "n" lines of symmetry
Even Sided Regular Polygons have "2n" lines of symmetry
