An analyst has pedicted that the growth rate, as a percent, for a specific mutual fund can be modelled by the equation:

r = 0.5x^3/2 - 6x^2/3 + 10.1, where x is the number of months and x is an element of [0,24]. Determine the best and worst times to invest in this mutual fund.

I have a natural repoire with animals, certain kinds in particular.. I feel I was born this way and those who know me have noticed and think the same.... It is especially strong with cats, dogs and wild birds... It's wierd, like I can make them trust me instantly... I think it is the strongest with wild birds, they are utterly fascinating to me and I have been able to walk right up to a wild chickadee and coax it to perch on my hand, no food, out in the middle of the bush I just walked up and put out my hand, the bird got on and let me stroke its feathers and hold him up to my face to look in his eye before he fluttered off. This kind of thing happens alot to me, and I never feed the birds, but they let me walk right up to them and sometimes touch them and they never act scared, its like they ignore me because they know im not a threat.... Does anyone else have a gift with animals like that?? Do you think people are born that way or is it just personality??

Could I have someone perform the check portion of this problem. The problem: √{3(x+4)}=1+√{2x+7)}
Answer: x=2 or -2

I have tried and tried to perform the check portion, but to no matter how I go about it I can't seem to obtain a true equation. I know I am missing some very basic step, but I can't figure out what it is. (Note the answer is correct I just need the step by step check portion.)

Thanks to all, I really appreciate it.

The yield of a crop, in tonnes, is dependant upon the time, t, in days, between planting and harvesting, according to the follwoing formula.
Y(t) = {80t - t^2 - 1500 if t is an element of [30,50]
0 if t is an element of [0, 30)
or t is an element of (5, infinity)

On which day is the maximum yield reached, and what is the maximum yield?

Its just a standard thermometer. It broke inside a circular container, so I am not sure if liquid leaked out of the container. Is it possible for mercury to spill out of the thermometer through the pore, and onto my backpack. How should I throw it away? What dangers are associated with broken thermometers?

I'm just wondering, what would happen if,
i were to get four magnet bars, turn them over so they are they repell each other. Then put a small metal ball inbetween the four mangets. Would it float?
This was a idea i had for a science project.
Would this actually work. If not do you any other suggestions.

I'm trying to find this answer on the regular "oh-so-hated" Google engine, but, unfortunately, I have no luck. Anyone help? It's a science project for my brother, we only have about two days until it's due and he hasn't even started. My sibling conscious is making me do this. Anyone help me, please?
