i want to know abt fire fighting system and how we design it.wht is criteria and rules for pipe sizing(mean limitations for velocity and friction loss) and how to locate sprinklers?
if u have some use links so plz inform me.

Here are some NFPA references for oil & gas facilities:
*NFPA 59 LPG storage handling
*NFPA 170 Std fire safety symbols
*NFPA 750 Water mist fire protection

Think of Relief Valve and areas classification.

This is such a complicated issue that it is impossible to answer your question here.

The best way to learn about fire sprinkler systems is to start with the sprinkler codes. The British, Germans, Australians, New Zealanders and Americans all have these codes. The standards mentioned by others should help. Let me warn you though, the standards are pretty expensive. You might be able to see them at your fire department or brigade.

The NFPA has a handbook that is full of information. For someone just starting out, old issues of this handbook would be good to have. They come up often on eBay.

try going to NFPA *National Fire Prevention Assc.* They can give you all the info you need and also you may have to go to building codes ...
