Frogs live in or near water. Toads live in dryer habitat, though they breed in water. The skin of a frog is smooth and moist. That of a toad is dry and warty. Frogs' back legs are longer, and they leap. Toads hop.

Bufonidae is a family of anura that is considered true toads. So toads are a family of frogs. There are over 5,000 species of frogs and toads in all. I see 33 families there of anura and 35 genera of toads.
