The Problem:
The are of a rectangle is 192 square feet.
The ratio of the width to the length is 3:4.
Find the length and the width.

I Got: *@:multiply
[2(3x)*@2(4x)=192]
[14x=192]
[x=13.71429]
[2(3x)=82.28574]
[2(4x)=109.71432]
[82.28574@*109.71432=9027.92401]
[9027.92401 DOES NOT EQUAL 192]

All other dimensions we can move through seem infinite in their respective directions, but in explaining string theory i see scientists explain how there could be other dimensions that exist curled up, but they are too small to be seen. But no matter small they are, if we can see it wouldn't that just make that dimension a very small 3 dimensional object? Also, in M theory, an 11th dimension was proposed that was a membrane just like our universe, only it had a very small length. ALl of our dimensions are infinite in their directions, so how can further dimensions by restricted?

Im working on a school project to build the strongest Bridge out of balsa wood and we are divided into 15 groups i have some ideas but would like to know any perspectives of any engineers out there. Bridge is only about a foot long but it must have a small roadway on the bottom so that the teacher can put a little car with a hook on the bottom so he can add sand and see how strong the structure is. I already have a few ideas for support of the road but need some more help. What is the strongest design that can hold the most weight? HELP!
thanks
