In my life experience, 95% of us don't go to doctors unless we absolutely feel we have to. Yet, the arrogant Doctors seem to think we go there cause we like it or something or having nothing better to do with our time or nowhere better to spend our money. What is wrong with Doctors that makes them do this?

The Big Bang theory purports to explain the creation of the universe from nothing! Would you agree it is flawed since it makes a major false prediction known as the Cosmological Constant? Cosmological Constant is essentially the intrinsic density of the vacuum P vac & part of Einstein's theory of general relativity to achieve a stationary universe. Much more to this but it would take up too much space. Whast's your theory on this Cosmological Constant?

hey i have a math problem i'm having issues with:

The point (5, y) is equidistant from (1, 4) and (10, -3). Find y.

My first instinct was, of course, to plug the points into the midpoint formula, but the x coordinate comes out to be 5.5 rather than 5.

Help would be greatly appreciated :)

I'm doing Bio 30 (in alberta) and the text book talks about pre and post ganglionic nerves. Nowhere in the textbook does it say what a ganglion is. I've looked it up on wikipedia and elsewhere, but it gives this huge complicated explaination. I just need to know whatthe ganglion is, so I can know what is meant by pre and post ganglionic nerves.

The moon is ever so slowly moving farther from the earth (something like an inch or so per year, I've heard). How long before life as we know it is negatively affected? How long until the moon is no longer a satellite? Are other planets' moons doing the same? Could we realistically (and safely) nudge the moon back to a nearer orbit by placing (on the "dark side" of the moon) columns from which rocket bursts could be set off to propell it?

As you know, its very cold in outer space. Scientists can create temperatures to less than one millionth of a degree above absolute zero--millions of tiomes colder than in outer space! Yet the temperature in outer space doesn't get colder. It could, but something is keeping that from happening. Any ideas?

I have seen a few answers here that are copied and pasted from wikipedia and other online sources, without crediting the source, making it appear to be the original work of the answerer. I have even seen such answers receive "best answer" in favor over other people's original explanations. Is this fair? If not, what can we do about it? Is there any way we can all agree to credit our sources, and indicate when something has been quoted directly rather than condensed or paraphrased, just as we have agreed not to use overt placeholders?

Given the Earth's mass as 5.9742E24 kg and the Sun's mass as 1.98892E30 kg, and the Earth's distance to the sun as 1.5E11 m, what is the earth's orbital velocity around the sun in meters per second? How would you go about to solve this problem? I know this involves Newton's law of universal gravitation and the centripetal acceleration equation, but I'm stuck.

I'd appreciate any help! Thanks.
