Well, I think you are right, many people do not go to the doctor unless they are really sick and then they wait too long hoping that things will resolve themselves.
And I don't know what is wrong with doctors. I was going to doctors for 2 years, being told there is nothing wrong with me, I should see a shrink. Finally, I listened to a guy I worked with - he said - you have Asthma. I was out of the normal age range where people develop Asthma. I was told to go and get mental help.
Amazing how some inhalers resulted in mental wellness.
I think now doctors get pissed when we go in with questions or guesses based on what we read on the internet.
I think if you are a female, that this happens a lot more then to men.

Wow, so many misconceptions out there. Doctors don't "report to the DEA".
I don't know about your "life experience" but I can safely say that your 95% number is a huge exageration. People trot over to the doctor or worse the ER with the most non urgent stuff day in and day out. It is one of the worst wastes of our resources in this country. Guess what .... there is no cure for the common cold, but that doesn't stop people going to the doctor for two days of sniffles looking for a magical cure. Or worse insisting they need antibiotics for the aforementioned cold. Antibiotics don't work on viruses, period.
Probably if everyone had to pay a higher co-pay to see their doctor they wouldn't run for every little scratch or sniffle. We'd all save a bundle on our insurance premiums if that were the case too.
Also doctors spend many many years and long hours of studying that continues throughout their careers and yes, they get frustrated that patients think they know everything, just because so and so told them or they read it on the internet. If Medicine was that easy why the hell is Medical school so long, not to mention the residency programs after medical school?

Just an interesting point for you to consider. Studies have chosen that hypochondriacs are healthier and live longer. But they may not enjoy it as much as others do. I would argue that most doctors do not treat their patients in this way. But it would be understandable if they did because many people rush to the doctor for antiobiotics and pain pills for minor ailments. They are bombarded by minor aches and pains all day and all week.

I have experienced the same thing, so I know what you mean. The last time I went to the doctor for a checkup, it had been 5 years (and I have insurance). I suggested getting all of the blood tests, etc and the nurse asked me if I was a hypochondriac. I just laughed, I knew it was no use to explain.

Because people running with every little thing to the doctor nowadays and it makes them frustated, because only half of them need meds, yet they want meds whether they're needed or not, thats why half the country is immune to anti biotics. That's why the overworked doctors get p*ssed off.

I guess doctors have to report to the DEA in re: to the drugs they dull out. Ill consecence is greater from the DEA than patients.

So, you have done a rigorous statistical analysis?
Oh REALLY?
Please provide a reference to how you gathered your data, the number of patients in your sample, the calculations, the margins of error, etc.
Perhaps the doctors in your "life experience" are actually frustrated with people coming in with preconceived generalities based on unscientific bias that impugns their profession in a wholesale fashion.
