(2/3) * 9 = 18/3 = 6
(2/3) * 15 = 30/3 = 10

Distribute the 2/3 to get 14=6y-10
Add 10 to both sides
24=6y so y=4

ok. this is equivalent to 14 = 2 (9y - 15) / 3 <=> 3 x 14 = 2 (9y - 15) <=> 42 = 2 (9y - 15) <=> 42 / 2 = (9y - 15) <=> 21 = 9y - 15 <=> 21 + 15 = 9y <=> 36 = 9y <=> 36 / 9 = y <=> 4 = y.

First, distribute the 2/3 to everything in the parentheses. 2/3*9 is 6, and 2/3*15 = 10 so

14 = 6y - 10

Now add 10 to both sides

14+10 = 6y - 10 + 10

+10 and - 10 cancel out and you're left with

24 = 6y

Now divide both sides by 6

24/6 = 6y/6 The 6's cancel here on the right and you get

4 = y

Good luck! Let me know if you get stuck somewhere!

Multiply 9Y by 2 and divide by 3 to get 6Y. Do the same to 15 to get 10. That means 14 = 6Y -10. Add 10 to both sides of the equation. Now you have 24 = 6Y. Divide 24 by 6 and you have 4 = Y.

Do the work to make 2/3 (9y-15) first..=6y-10
therefore, 14 =6y-10
add 10 to both sides
therefore, 24=6y
divide both sides by 6
y=4

Step by Step
first multiply both sides by 3/2
3/2(14) = 3/2(2/3(9y-15))
21 = (9y-15) same as 9y - 15 w/o()'s
add 15 to both sides
21 = 9y - 15
+15 = + 15
------------------
36 = 9 y
divide both sides by 9
36/9 = 9y/9
viola'
4 = y or y = 4

Step 1: Distribute the 2/3 on the right

14 = 6y - 10

Add 10 to both sides

24 = 6y

Divide both sides by 6

4 = y

Distribute. 2/3 times 9y. Then do 2/3 times -15. After that just solve. Post more if you need help after that.

First you do additions and subtractions first which there are none, Then you do multiplications then divisions. Now multiply 3 (9y - 15) is the same as 3 times 9y-15 which gives you 37y-45. Then you divide. 37y-45/2 . So 2 goes into 37y equals 18.5y and -45 divided by 2 is -22.5 So answer is 18.5y-22.5

ok, well basically, what we're trying to find here is y.

to do this, we want to isolate y on one side.

the first step would be to divide 14 by 2/3.

after that, we can add 15 to the left side, and then finally, get rid of the 9 attached to the y by dividing the left side by 9.

post if you have any questions :)
