so what is the purpose of DNA sequencing, and how is it done?

My basic understanding is that we can determine the order of the 4 bases in a fragment of DNA somehow using dideoxynucleotides, which stop synthesis because of a missing hydroxl group. I know that the human genome project has something to do with this process, but im confused what the connection is there.

explain in detail if you can, but most importantly i want to know the purpose and basic concept of DNA sequencing and the HGP.

I guess I don't understand -- if its so dense and heavy, doesn't that mean the molecules are packed closely together? Then why is it "soft"? I've already read the wikipedia article on lead, and it hasn't answered this question -- so I leave it to the resident chemists to explain!

Do you think they are observing us. But, we don't know about it and they're planning some kind of an invasion within 2 decades ? I just have this feeling we're being watched or listened to from far away. But, they're canceling their noise. So that we don't know about their position.
