I was just watching CNN and there was this N.J. highschool kid on Anderson 360 crying to the state and the media because his teacher didnt believe in evolution. Who the heck cares? I dont believe it either and neither do millions of other people, but does it hurt that bad that we dont believe it? I have never heard of anyone from either side of the debate falling over dead, because the other side disagreed. So once again I ask, who the heck cares?

I dont understand these?

the book says that they should end up being the sum or difference of 2 cubes:

x^3 + y^3 = (x+y)(x^2 - xy +y^2)
x^3 - y^3 = (x-y)(x^2 +xy +y^2)

can someone show me how to do these step by step?

Suppose a bunch of insane basketball players all get together and decide to play a game. But crazy old Smitty forgot to bring the basketball, so they just decide to pretend that there is a ball. They pretend to dribble, pass, and shoot the ball as if it were really there. Someone watching the game might postulate the existance of a ball to explain the motions of the players and to describe the rules of the basketball game. Is light like the imaginary basketball? Okay, so we all know that nothing travels faster than the speed of light. And we know that the force of gravity that the sun exerts on the earth keeps us rotating around in a nice circular fashion.
Now, let's say, one day, the sun BLOWS UP!!! Oh my god, it's a disaster! Everybody's about to die! But wait...
Did we have a warning? Or didn't we?
It's been said that it takes approximately 7 minutes for light to travel from the sun to the earth. So nothing can get to our location, from where the sun is, any faster than 7 minutes. Light is the limit!
But... if the sun is no longer there, nothing is keeping us in orbit! Let's assume, just for simplicity, that the sun blew up and left the earth intact, and there is not enough collective matter to give the earth an even orbit. The earth starts wobbling out of orbit...
but WHEN? Do we start wobbling out of orbit immediately when the sun blows up, or does it take 7 minutes for the earth to recieve information that the sun has been destroyed

As far as I'm aware, raindrops (or precipitation I guess) fall when clouds condense enough. I guess at its most basic level, the clouds get too heavy to hold the vapour and at that point, they condense, turn to liquid water, and fall to the ground. If that's the case, why do they fall at different times for different lengths of time and come in different sizes?
