Pupils are not a sure fire way of identifying if they have been on a night out,.

Amphetamines make people feel very insecure when they are coming down - so nervous habits - shuffling from one foot to the other / picking face / clenching jaw / grinding teeth / lack of eye contact / drinking alot of water / sleeping at about 11am etc... give them away.

If I was ever suspect of my kid I would get him in a situation where he has to look in my eyes and be calm... very hard to do when you are coming down!! (not that I would know...)

Alternatively - maybe his girlfriend has a pimple popping fetish??

I don't think so,,amphetamines are what's known as speed,,it does what it says on the tin,,the come down just makes you feel so worn out and possibly aching all over,,I think you should look for something other than speed, another type of drug maybe to make this person pick their face,,I hope you win over this battle with this person,,drugs really can mess up your life

There really isn't anthing you can do about the amphetamine withdrawal symptoms. You should just rest and sleep for a while until your body re-calibrates itself. Hope you have learned your lesson.

I've know quite a number of amphetamine users, including my ex... some of them do tend to pick at their skin, either when high, or when coming down.

This seems to be some sort of behavioral side effect of the drug. Not all users exhibit the behavior, but many do... a friend of mine who was a user often scratched long bloody strips out of his legs... it was quite gross really.

Anyway - if you know someone with the symptoms you've described, you might want to talk to them if they're a close friend or relative...

Peace,

-dh

A possible nervous disposition is the main aspect here. From sufferers of acne-take it from one who knows about 'picking' it!-to nailbiters-to people on antidepressants, drugs and whatever, all relate to the same agitative state really. You don't have to be a 'Smackhead' or 'Crackhead' to do this.

Oh, yes...definately......when someone is coming down off of speed they tend to obsess on things such as picking their face and the like...which is too bad, because if the hands are dirty then they risk getting an infection and if they over pick then there is always the possibility of permanent scarring on the face. so, in my opinion, don't do the speed so then you won't pick pick pick.
so, don't speed to begin with and then you won't have to worry about scarring your face.........

yes, amphetamines can cause that. Meth definitely causes people to pick at their skin.

I used to abuse speed and I was not really a "picker". Some people are & some aren't. Bangers are more likely to be pickers.
