I've taken the logs:
log y = log 1 - log (x-a)(x-b)
so
log y = -log(x-a)(x-b)
so
log y = -log(x-a) - log(x-b)
not sure if this is correct so far, if yes, still can't see how it fits into y =mx+c
Please help!!!

A string of negligible mass is wound around a uniform disk of radius R and mass M. The disk is released from rest with the string vertical and its top end tied to a fixed bar. Find the acceleration of the center of mass of the disk.

I know you have the 2 forces acting on the disc, mg acting down, and the force of the torque caused by tension of the string on the disc. I know F=ma and Sum of torques=0 and I for a disc is 1/2(MR^2). My problem is what to do next and thus solving this problem. Thank you for your help.

ok here is an easy algebra question( for some)

1(a+3)+2=4(a+5)+6
very simple, solved in steps...

step1:1(a+3)+2=4(a+5)+6
step2:1a+4+2=4a+9+6
step3:1a+4+2-1a=4a+9+6-1a
step4:4+2=3a+9+6
step5:4+2-2=3a+9+6-2
step6:4=3a+9+4
step7:4-4=3a+9+4-4
step8:0=3a+9
step9:0-9=3a+9-9
step10:-10=3a
step11:-10/3=3a/3
step12:a=3.33( im just going out to hundreth decimal, dosent really matter since 3.33 represents 3.3333333.... or 3.33 repeating )

its a very simple proccess
that was a problem with low numbers

the challenge is to solve this:
21(a+9)=13(a+8)+1
what does "a" equal?

In Europe the cycles are different than the US. Besides this, they also use two wire systems with an earth ground. How could I wire a three wire US electrical system to work with a two wire European system to get the 250V? What other diferrences would occur other than perhaps the motor running faster because of the cycle difference?
