A literal equation usually has only letters in it and can just be a general equation ;

Example ax +d/c =e ; solve for c

A linear equation is an equation that when graphed in Cartesian coordinates is a straight line

Example Y = 2X + 4

2x+8=0 and 5x=15 are examples of linear equations
x+3=5 would be a literal equation
2+3=5 would be a numerical equation
