The x- and y-components of a velocity vector of 100 N at 240 degrees would be what?
I know it is
50 N, 86.6 N but I am not sure where to put the negative and positive signs. Thanks for your help and explaination.

Basically my pre-calc teacher gave the class this homework packet, and i don't know how to do 5/36 of them. I need help.

There are the problems:

Convert the rectangular equation to polar form.

1. y^2 = 2x

2. y^2 = x^2

3. x^2 = y^3

4. (x^2 + y^2)^2 - 9(x^2 - y^2) = 0

5. y^2 - 8x -16 = 0

Any help would be much appreciated.

I have a debate tomorrow about whether Stem Cell research should be funded or not. I have some basic questions that i myself have not been able to find answers to, simply questions might i add. I wanted to find out whether stem cell research only works for a certain age group? or does it give an effect to any age group? also.. if it is for children, ages maybe 5 - 12, if they wanted the stem cell to repair his or her heart or something like that, would it increase in the growth of the heart as in not only repairing it but by physically make the organ grow past the age of the patient? Hope im making sense, please explain if im not .. thanks

I'm looking for a source that can give me the details of stars in our galaxy, specifically, their known position in relation to our own sun, their size, type and any known details. That does sound like a tall order, but I would really enjoy having something like that available to me. If possible I would like a 3D map.
