we have 250, six-hundred pound men, riding in a bus traveling at 200 miles per hour, if there is a large plate of sausage on the bus, and these large men charge the plate of sausage, thus pissing off the bus driver and making him stop the bus for 10 minutes to clean up the sausage, what is the average speed of this bus over a 100 miles course figuring the driver immediately speeds back up to the 200 mile per hour speed????

Ok, I'm in 8th grade and in Algebra 1. I don't really think the should have put me in here without letting me go to Pre Alg. first because I'm not the worlds greatest mathmatician, but what ever heres the problem:
The local market is having a sale on whole fish. The prices are as follows:
You can buy an albacore and a barracuda for $21.
You can buy a barracuda and a carp for $24.
You can buy a carp and a dogfish for $32.
You can buy a dogfish and an eel for $37.
You can buy an eel and a flounder for $31.
You can buy a flounder and a gar for $25.
You can buy a gar and an albacore for $26.

Determine the cost of each individual fish.

Now I'm not asking you guys to solve it, just to tell me how to solve it, because to be honest I'm lost. lol First person who can help me solve it gets 10 points! Thanks in advance.

The Binary system is udes for computer programming. A binary number consits of a sting of digits that are eigther 0s or 1s.

a) If a string of Binary code is 5 digits long, how many binary numbers are possible if the first digit is 1.

The answer I have is 16 which I got from 1*2*2*2*2 but I would like to know the algebriac method for this question as I am not sure this is correct.

b) How many different binary numbers can be represented by a string of binary code with 5 digits if the first digit is 1 and the last 2 are 0s?

I have the answer 4 which I obtained from 1*2*2*1*1 but I would like to kknow the algebraic method as I am not sure this is correct.

All that is needed is finding the derivative and simplifying the answer. After attempting it I couldn't come up with a sensible answer. 3x-2/(2x+1)^1/2. (The denominator is the square root of 2x+1).
