This is the problem:
I am the car salesperson.
My probability of selling a car is 1/10
n is the number of time I try to sell the car.
i.e. If I have to talk to 3 persons to sell a car n=3 (fail the first 2 attempts and succeed on the 3rd attempt)
p(3) should be (9/10)^2(1/10)
Find E(n) and Var(n).

Thank you.

How did the ingredients of a buffer solution assisted in the extraction of DNA?The experiments purrpose was to extract DNA from a banana. The banana was squished until it was all mushy. Then it was mixed with a buffer solution that contained shampoo, baking soda, salt, and distilled water. I know the shampoo dissolves the lipids and proteins of the cell. During this process the cell membrane is being broken down and the bonds that hold the cell membrane together are filtered out. The baking soda in the buffer solution regulated the pH level of the substance. But can you please help me with the other 2-salt and distilled water. Thanks in advance=)

Note: Elodea is a fresh water plant.

a) Elodea cells normally contain 1% salt and 99% water.
b) Tap water contains 1% salt and 99% water.
c) Salt water contains 6% salt and 94% water.
d) Salt water has a higher concentration of salt than fresh water or Elodea cells.

Answer the following questions using the information above about the cell in salt water:

1) What is the percentage of water outside the cell at the start?- 94
2) What is the percentage of water inside the cell at the start? -99
3) How do the percentages compare? - the percentage of water inside the cell is higher than that of outside the cell
4) When will water move across the cells membrane? -during osmosis?
5) WOuld the cell shape change once it was placed in the tap water? -yes because the cell was trying to equal the concentration of water and salt inside and outside of it...

is all of this correct? if not, can you please correct my answers?!

I'm going to be building a 12.5" Dobsonian telescope. For the primary mirror, precision optics, of F5 or better and certified, are roughly $1600. Yet many websites sell Chinese imported mirrors, at prices between $500 and $800. Will the quality of the primary make a huge amount of difference in the finished product, or would investing in a better eyepiece yield the same results?
