My information comes straight from the guts of a hard drive. Can somebody explain what I am overlooking about this situation? Or why my information is wrong?

I'm a science teacher, I was teaching my class about hearing damage and we found out together how loud babies cry.
They asked me "why don't babies make themselves go deaf?" and I had lots of answers for them but no idea if they were right. Anyone know?

It really sucks to think about that maybe we will never have commercial aircrafts to fly across any point on Earth at the speed of over Mach 1 because of sonic booms.

I am wandering is there any way that sonic booms can be reduced or avoided?
