Grey matter is the part of brain or cord tissue which holds the cell bodies of neurons. The white matter is white due to mylin which helps insulate and facilitate signal propogation from the grey matter

It's part of your brain. The brain has two layers: grey matter and white matter. The grey is on the outside and the white is on the inside. The grey matter handles a lot of our higher brain functions.
