Ok here goes:

Gas is being pumped into a spherical ballon at the rate of 3cm^3/s.
a) How fast is the radius increasing when the radius is 15cm?
b) Without using the result from part 'a', find the rate at which the surface area of the balloon is increasing when the radius is 15 cm.

I get the first part but how would you calculate the second without the result from the first!?!!

Science and christianity dont mix. It says in the biblie u cannot love god and money. Its just like with christian science. God is not science. No matter how hard u try you will never figure him out. You are obviously mislead. Be careful of what you teach. In revelations it says if you add anything to this books the plagues discribed will happen to you. Remember god is god and you are not!!!!!

From old story’s I learn the highest speed in the world is the speed of thinking.
By the mind I can travel myself in half of the second to the end of one Universe what is at “one billion years light” distance.
With “classical” speed of the light I need one billion life-times!
The speed of the mind it is faster as everything.
It is not true?

This is a test. I obviously know the correct answer. I am curious to see how many others can answer this correctly. During 10 years of teaching college math and asking this same question to every class, I never got the correct response.

Give your definition in a single sentence, if you can. I want to know what YOU think is the answer, not what Google or wikipedia thinks is the definition.

This is not a trick question. Email me if you want to know the correct answer. a1mathguy@yahoo.com. I will also reply with why it is mathematically important to know the correct answer to this question.
