Your imagination is pretend. When you put yourself at end of one universe, you are really not there. It was in your mind. But if it makes you feel better, we wish you were there.

I believe that most answerers here have missed the point of the mind - equating it with conscious thought, which is rather slow sometimes. That's why linguists learning a new language learn not to translate as they go, but to just "think in that language." This is why martial artists train so long - so that when something happens they use what's called "no mind," and are able to use "lighting fast" reflexes to defend or protect, without even "thinking": the mind's ability to move the body before the conscious mind even knows what's going on. Think of your own "reflex actions", or even reactive emotions (but that's another thing). Okay so you can't measure it. That's why it's not really a "science" - but that doesn't make it any less real, does it? The speed of the mind is faster.

Um, i think that actually light of speed will far exceed the speed of the mind. The reason being that we are taking about a physical action that is taking place. However, if were talking about a theoridical thaught, then, we would have to conclude that the speed of the mind is faster. However, this question is vague and needs to be clarified on the basis of whether this is a science or theoridical question.

The speed of light. The minds physical processes work via chemical and electrical energy and in no way does thought occur at light speed.

No, sorry, like most 'old' stuff it is wrong.
Remember when they used to say that an electron in a atom moved so fast that it was in two places at once?
Turns out that the speed of the brain is pretty dam slow.
I mean think about it. In a fairly old computer these days, the processor can do 1 billion things in 1 second.
I know people that haven't done a billion things their whole lives!

Well, the truth is actually, how you understand, percieve, feel things around you, and all that stuff, is through one language that your brain understands and those are called "Action Potentials." Action potentials are the way that your cells get depolarized (get more positive because your cells are naturally negative inside) by means of Na+ (Sodium) Charges coming diffusing iniside cells, and goes back to normal charge by repolarizing (going back to negative) by stopping the diffusion of Na charges and diffusing K+(potassium) charges out. This is basically how neurons and nerves communicate with the brain. All these happens in just 3 milliseconds (3/1000 of a second!) thats how fast nerve impulses are! and the speed of light is 3x10^8 meters/second... well with all these info, you decide...

But did you know this. One of the more interesting facts about relativity that is ignored:
At the speed iof light, the universal mass condenses to a point mass. From the perspective of light, that means light exists at a single point at it everwhere in the universe.
Something like an all-pervading, universal consciousness that theists sometimes talk of.
Having said that the mind is more superior than light as science talks abt it.

The capable speed of the energy in the mind and the energy of light are the same. The medium that energy uses for transport in the mind slows it down so its transport is slower than the transport of light in space.

The question has no meaning, since the "speed" of the mind has to do with changing mental images, not physical motion.
This is the type of question mentioned in "Thank You for Smoking." Since the basic question is meaningless, either answer can be arguably correct.

the speed of light is a physical property, I cannot physically monipulate your mind, therefore the two cannot be compared. The speed of light is the fastest physical speed.
