in math its how you prove theorems and postulates and other stuff using given inforamtion. it will give you a a set of information like line l is parallel to line m, etc. and sometimes a drawing. then it will say prove angle1 is congruent to angle 2, etc. just solve it justifing each of your steps with a theorem or postulate.
