I'm stuck on a Physics problem-
A 7.5 kg block is resting on a horizontal surface, and is connected to a 5.50 kg mass suspended from a string passes over a frictionless pulley. Find the acceleration of the system and the tension in the string if the surface is:
(a)
smooth, and
(b)
the coefficient of friction is 0.190

I have found the acceleration of the system with the smooth surface, but i can't find the tension in the two strings or the acceleration of the system with the coefficient of friction.....

Any help is greatly appreciated.....

In a baseball league of ten teams, Joseph's team is currently in the first place with thirty-five wins. Benjamin's team is eight games behind Joseph's team. Sydney's team is three games behind Benjamin's team. In the next forty games, Benjamin's team won four less than the number of games won by Joseph's team. Sydney's team won fourteen less than the number of games won by Benjamin's team. Three times the number of games won by Joseph's team, during these forty games, was eighty-eight more than the number of games won by Sydney's. The sum of the games won by these three teams after the complete season is 169. How many games did each of these three teams win?

When I asked my doctor he was clueless. What I would like is a genetic profile. I know that they are out there and that they would be able to look at certain markers in my dna to see if cancer, or heart problems can crop up. Recently my blood brothers have had children and I would love to know what I would be passing on to my children if I get the chance to have any.

My basic question is this. Suppose you build a time machine and travel back 40 years in the past as a 50 year old man, Will you still be a 50 year old person in 1966 or will you be a boy of 10? If somehow you make it to the past, is it possible to travel "back" into the future? Or is it impossible because the future hasn't happend yet? I am just curious and this is strictly theoretical!

Thanks!
