Let n belongs to N and given a belongs to Z, let a* represent the congruence class of a modulo n. if a1* = a2* and b1* = b2* for integers a1,a2,b1,b2, then prove that (a1b1)* = (a2b2)*.

if p is a prime, explain why all elements in Z / pZ have multiplicative inverses

I have tried but cant go anywhere with it. need help. thank you.

You have 10 bags. Each bag has 10 coins. One of the ten bags is full of counterfit coins, but you don't know which bag. Real coins weigh 10 grams and counterfit coins weigh 9 grams. If you can use a scale only one time how can you determine which bag has the counterfit coins? You may only weigh it one time, meaning you can only read the scale once. You can't lift up the bags and feel which is heavier either. There is a logical solution.

First to get it right gets the 10 points!

If you get stumped then just email me and i'll send you the answer.

Have fun!

"What would happen if you went back in time and killed your grandfather before he had kids?"
I've heard this paradox type question in countless movies and SciFi books, and I believe it to be representitive of the entire problem with time travel. But, what if time travel were really possible? What do you think would happen? Would the universe explode simultaneously? Would your family tree (including you) suddenly wink out of existence? Would some divine force (God, Universe, Father Time, ect.) somehow cause your grandfather to duck at the very moment you pulled the trigger? What are your own thoughts?

Consider a thin circular disk of radius R and mass M. Imbedded in the material of the disk, at a distance r from the center, is a mass m. Imagine that the disk is placed on a ramp inclined at angle THETA from the horizontal. What is the maximum distance, as measured along the ramp, the disk can roll UP the incline under gravity alone? Simplifications:
Consider only a disk allowed to move slowly without slipping.
Consider m>>M.
For definiteness, give the answer for these parameters:
THETA = 30°. R = 7.500, r = 6.800 (Three decimals ought to do it)
The first correct answer gets 10.
