"What would happen if you went back in time and killed your grandfather before he had kids?"
I've heard this paradox type question in countless movies and SciFi books, and I believe it to be representitive of the entire problem with time travel. But, what if time travel were really possible? What do you think would happen? Would the universe explode simultaneously? Would your family tree (including you) suddenly wink out of existence? Would some divine force (God, Universe, Father Time, ect.) somehow cause your grandfather to duck at the very moment you pulled the trigger? What are your own thoughts?

Your grandfathers evil twin (or good twin) from the parallel universe would suddenly matriculate causing you to go into hyper shock while the "Anti" grand-pa killed you before you could kill him too ... Then your "Anti" grand-pa would populate as before then return to the alternate universe so that you will have an "Anti- You" in the future.

"Time travel is the concept of moving backward or forward to different points in time, in a manner analogous to moving through space. Additionally, some interpretations of time travel suggest the possibility of travel between parallel realities or universes." -- as defined by Wikipedia.
By theories of special relativity, you could exist in one parallel dimenion/universe and not exist in another. Although time travel is not possible, else we would have had visitors from the future, if it were possible, we should expect that any alternations in the timeline would cause a branching of dimensions -- a new dimension would be created. It's like an alternative ending to a book.
Else, there could already exist an infinite number of parallel universes with exactly the same conditions and happenings. When you travel back in time, you would distort one of these universes and cause the slope of time to curve, severing the overlapping parallel path with the original universe. Therefore, you would have been born and existed in the original universe, disappeared from that original universe as you traveled back in time (into another), and erasing your own tracks in the new universe.
There are infinite possibilities. None of them can be proved.

I think that if time travel existed, we would view the past and the future as passive observers who were unable to interfere with events because we would be in a different dimension of space time then what was actually happening. Obvioulsy this is all hypothetical and I don't really believe its possible at all because it defies the laws of physics but its fun to think about.

If you were intelligent and knew alot about science like me, then you'd know time travel IS possible. You just need to harness the power of a Black Hole to do it.
It would probably just create a new dimension, it wouldn't effect this time at all.

Some people believe that all moments are occurring simultaneously, and time is an illusion.
It gives me brain-freeze.
Wild stuff!

i think that it would be impossible for you to kill your grandfather, for that matter anyone or anything.
I think that you can't do anything because it's already happened in your time, if you go to another dimension, yes you can change events, but not in yours.

i wish i could go back in time and stop you from asking this f***ing quesiton.
Several possible universes, branching out?
Whats done is done, there aint no going back and changing it. Time just may be a one-way street.
