According to Darwin's theory, if an animal has a more beneficial charcteristic, this will survive while other's without this will die and eventually the only charcteristics past on will be the beneficial ones. Obviously, human charcteristics are more beneficial than those of apes so why are there still apes around as well as humans, why did they not all evolve?

What I was meaning was if planets are made by lots of particles from, space being attracted together- don't know if that's true at all- then how do lots of the same particles become attracted together to make the cores of planets different from each other rather than all of them attracting the same particles and being identical? Also, was there a time when there was nothing at all in space? If so then how did things suddenly come into being?

I want to buy a clock kit, but use a small bike gear for the pendulum (it's going to be a bike-themed clock for my bike crazy husband). I expect that the gear will be heavier than the piece that comes with the clock, so I'm wondering if that will cause the clock to be inaccurate or the little motor to fail.

My father and I have different blood types, what are the odds of that happening, if I remember correctly blood tests were done to determine paternity, before DNA tests were available.

If you read Darwin's "The Origin of Speicies" as well as many of his supporting works, it is quite clear that patterns of habitation by closely related plant and animal species was the primary factor driving him to reject special creation and argue for the evolution of species from a common ancestor. In fact, this was his only real clue as analysis of fossil records were embryonic and concepts like genetics and molecular biology didn't even exist.

Today, however, aside from throw away lines about Finches on the Galopogas islands, virtually no one even mentions this concept anymore.

With all the use of global information systems and things like Google Earth, are defenders of evolution overlooking what might be a powerful and straightforward way of demonstrating the realities of evolution on the ground?

I have been working on this two days. I need help plz.

"You have five bales of hay. For some reason, instead of being weighed individually, they were weighed in all possible combinations of two; bales 1 and 2, bales 1 and 3, bales 1 and 4, bales 1 and 5, bales 2 and 3, bales 2 and 4, etc. The weight of each of these combinations were written down and arranged in numerical order without keeping track of which weight matched each pair of bales. The weights in kilograms were 80, 82, 83, 84, 85, 86, 87, 88, 90, and 91."

Now, I have to find out how much each bale weighs, and if there is more than one possible combination, and then explain it. I was trying to randomly assign numbers to the bales of hay, but I can't get them all to fit, and I don't know any other way to do it. Any mathematical geniuses out there?
