My husband saw a blue orb move very quickly in a downward position in the sky tonight. He said it was round with a sky blue colour on the outer part and a darker blue on the inner circle. He said it moved very fast. He said that had he not seen it with his own eyes he wouldn't have believed it. We wonder if anyone else has seen it. 14 July 2006

You know, from Finding Forrester? "The object of a question is to obtain information that matters only to us. You were wondering why your soup doesn't firm up? Probably because your mother was brought up in a house that never wasted milk in soup. That question was a good one, in contrast to, 'Do I ever go outside?' ...which fails to meet the criteria of obtaining information that matters to you!"

People who ask what is 2 + 2 tick me off, because they already know the answer.

There are enough false proofs of 1 = 2 here. Click one of those, instead of asking again.

People insisting that 0.9999... (repeating forever) ≠ 1 are idiots. Don't answer a math question with authority if you don't understand math!

The only bible in math is called "The Elements" (it's old testament math), and references to the KJV or Jesus Christ have no business being in this section of Y!Answers.

A homework question is a soup question, but not the entire assignment.

Venting. I feel better now.

I'm asking this question because I read in Popular Science that there may be a possibility to revive Extinct species of animals through cloning. Do you think it would be good to bring back the wooly mammoth or saber toothed Tiger? Would they be able to survive in today's world?

The answer given is 0, and the book is trying to show that the two vectors are orthogonal. However, to find the cross product of these vectors, I've taken the CROSS PRODUCT by first putting it into matrix form and then solving, and each time have ended up with -93x + 138y + 18z, or <-93, 138, 18>. And that doesn't add up to zero. What, if anything, am I doing wrong?
