Is it really true that the speed of an object when thrusted into the air is the same as going down to the ground.

For example, if you throw a ball in the air, is the speed of it leaving your hand the same as landing?

Also, if you shoot vertically with a gun/rifle, is the speed of the bullet leaving the gun the same when it's coming down?
(That would be really dangerous)

I'm just curious...

It is in either Russia or Germany... I believe it is spelled wrong. It might have been a labor camp during WWII.
I already did an internet search.

Solve this: 3 people went to a restaurant. After having the meal, they asked for the bill and the waiter brought them a bill of US$ 25 (long time ago -- food was cheaper). Each one gave the waiter a $10 bill. The waiter returned them 5 $1 bills. Each of the 3 people took one $1 bill and they left $2 on the table for the tip.

In summary: Each one paid $9. 3 times $9 equals $27. So, $27, plus $2, left as a tip, makes it $29. It's still $1 short for $30. Where did this $1 go?

What precautions can we take, if any, to keep the house safe? Aside from basic things, like having candles and food ready. What are the dangerous involved in a lightening storm. It was REALLY loud. Our phones went out and if it wern't for a surge protectoer, our computers would have too. Our dvd player even broke!

One day while I was at school, the electricity went out at home. When I left for school that morning, all the clocks were working and agreed that the time was 6:30. When I got home they all said different times. The wind-up clock, which was unaffected by the electricity, read 5:21. The analog electric clock stops running when you unplug it from the wall, and it starts up where it left off when you plug it back in. That clock said it was 3:50. My digital electric clock, which resets itself to midnight when the electricity goes out, flashes until you correct the time. It was flashing 6:03am. Assuming the electricity went out just once, what time did it go out, and how long was it off.
