It is in either Russia or Germany... I believe it is spelled wrong. It might have been a labor camp during WWII.
I already did an internet search.

possibly.. It was listed in a place field in genealogy records. That's all they listed.

Do you mean Novosibirsk? It's the largest city in Siberia, and the capital of the Siberian Federal District of Russia.

Novosibirsk is in Siberia, Russia. The name means New Siberia.
