i belive the recognition of time passing is memory based,
try think of it this way,

lets say that every day r memory was erased then each day you would feel like your entire lifespan was 1 day,

when your young your memory is sharp and like a sponge soaking in lots of info thus making time more rememberable,

as you get older your memory degrades and you dont remember as many events that happend during your day,

also as many of these events that happen to you (eg the bus journey to work) are familiar events your brain doesnt want to fill your sponge (brain) with this useless information

remember variaty is the spice of life.
if u go by my theory will increase your lifespan,
so be spontanious, take chances and enjoy life :)

Because as we grow older we utilize time better and have more interest to past that time.
Also, if we are happier time seems to fly and when we are miserable it seems to stay with us FOREVER! I guess because we have more time the think?

A four year old experiences one year as a forth of their life
An 89 year old experiences one year as one eighty ninth of their life. Smaller amounts of experienced time move quicker

You see fewer years ahead than behind, so you converge on your last day (on a percentage basis) much more quickly than you leave your first day.

it depends on if you are looking to the future or the past. spend too much time thinking about the past and your life will seem very short.
