We installed a fan in the living room, and for some reason the house feels cooler in every room. We even upped the temperature in the thermostat by 3 degrees. I though a fan didn't really cool air, but simply blows air on your skin making it seem colder. Does anybody know?

I understand that the temperature of the human body is normally about 98 degress fahrenheit. I therefore speculated that humans would be in total equilibrium if the outdoor temperature were 98 degress fahrenheit. However, I (and I am guessing others do too) find myself sweating and overheated when the temperature is 98 degress fahrenheit. Can someone please explain this phenomenon to me?

Regarding evolution... Humans supposedly evolved from a common ancestor with apes. So at one point, we had this common ancestor. HOW exactly does intelligence evolve? I mean, a smarter animal mated with another smart animal and smarter had a great chance of survival?? By the way, I'm a Genetics major so I understand the molecular aspect, but this is one part I never understood. From what I learned, i always thought there was no explanation for this. We humans are VERY different from apes. We are complex, emotional beings. When I go to the zoo, I just don't see it in my monkey cousin sitting in the cage.

The launch has been postponed until tomorrow (so far). I don't get it. Why are these space launches always delayed due to weather, could a cloud and a few spots of rain really do that much damage?

When it is very hot in some areas there is still snow on the high mountain tops. But since the mountain is closer to the sun than the ground is, wouldn't the snow melt? Why does snow still exist there?

After dropping a book (a math book, for instance) it falls half way to the floor. It will, subsequently, fall three quarters of the way to the floor, then seven eighths of the way, then fifteen sixteenths of the way and so on and so on. I dropped a book about 20 times, and without exception, it went all the way to the floor every time. How is this possible?
