that depends entirely on the plant. All leaves have water in as it is a by-product of photosynthesis, but if you eat the wrong plants you could die. For example, rhubarb leaves are really poisonous as are the stems if they aren't cooked, yew is poisonous and image what stinging nettles would do to your mouth.

thats the ones I can think of for england but there's loads i don't know, especially for other continents. There is a plant in Africa somewhere whose roots can be chewed for water, but i can't remember what it's called. Some cacti are good too if you know which.

the best method for collecting water in a desert tho is to dig a hole about a foot deep & a drop a can in it. Put a tarpaulin over the top and hold it in place with rocks, then put a rock in the middle to cause a dip. During the night dew will form on the underside and will drip into the can.

well, a very small amount. And if you were chewing poison ivy, that would be a Bad Thing. You're better off constructing an "evaporation tent", where the dew rises, catches on a surface like a tarp, condenses, and drips down to a catch basin.

It depends upon which green leaves you are chewing. If you choose the wrong ones to chew you will poison yourself. Everything has a water content as far as I know. If your choice to chew was a succulent then definitely you would get water.

You'd get water, as well as an untold variety of other substances, some of which may give you diahhrea and leave you even more dehydrated than before. If it's a concern of yours, get a book on edible wild plants.

You can get water from cactus. If you cut into one you will see the water coming out.

lettuce contains 95 percent of water. And you don't need to spit something too.
