Plants dont keep in line, I have to discipline my asparagus and broccoli all the time, they fight like cats and dogs. Other plants I have problems with are the stupid tomatoes; they get out of line too, spreading their diseases to the other plants. I've told them all about safe-gardening, and they act like they dont even listen. The best way to keep plants in line? Dont grow them.

The graviational pull keeps the various planets in orbit around the sun. Since the distance between these planets is great, the pull isn't enough to have a collision.

Actually, it is believed that the asteroid belt on the far side of Mars may have been the result of a planetary collision. The surviving planets are the ones who have orbits that don't intersect each other.

If you mean plants then they do hit each other and they figure out which way is least crowded.
In case of planets its gravity.

It's PFM...seriously...there'sa guy with a big string keeping them all aligned.
Ok...didn't you watch Star Trek? It all has to do with gravitational pull of the star they circle around...sort of like wanna be celebrities hovering around genuine celebrities. How else could you describe Nick Latche (sp), Paris Hilton's hubby/ex-hubby.

If they misbehave, don't water them for a day. If they keep hitting each other, send them to bed with no sunlight.
