Pregnancy - November 2006

I'm 38-39 weeks pregnant and I'm completely frustrated waiting for labour to start. I can deal with all the pregnancy symptoms and I gladly welcome the labour pain but this waiting is starting to drive me insane. I have tried everthing to speed up the process-except for castor oil (sex, walking, evening prime rose, rasberry tea leaves but nothing seems to work) I've had two false calls at the hospital ending up back home waiting again. I know I should try and chill out and that I be so over joyed when I see my baby soon but my hormones are really driving me nust. When I read some women's stories that they have three children or more with hardly any spacing I just wonder how they manage. Anyway My question is, is anyone else feeling utterly frustrated playing this waiting game? any tips to speed up this process? Thanks

i've been having these symptoms and my friend is telling me that i'm pregnant.....what signs will i get in the begining? i had sex on the 21st of last month and the condom broke i got my period a few days later and it was very light for 3 days when i usually get 7 days...the week after that i started having cramps like i was going to start my period and now my breast keep swelling on and off.

The first day of my last period was Sept 29. My cycle is irregular. I did an ovulation predictor and it showed a light LH surge ON the 18-19 and i ran out of sticks, so i might have ovulated sometime after those dates. From Oct 29-Nov 6 i was spotting brown, two day out of that week, i didnt spot at all. Since Nov 7 i started getting thin white discharge and i also had it Nov 8 which was yesterday. two days ago i took a blood test and it showed 1.5 HCG. someone told me to test after the brown spotting was done,so the hormone can start producing, the day i tested i was spotting very little. The Doctor said i might of had an ectopic pregnancy, but she did a pelvic exam and said that i was bloated, but im not having an ectopic preg. i though by then i was going to start my period but the bloating went away. Ive been having off and on headaches for the past week. I dont feel like my period is coming, what do you think?? do you think i tested too early?

I am 35 weeks pregnant and the carseat and everything is still in boxes from my baby shower last saturday. My question is....when should I start getting everything out of the boxes, put up the bed, sterlize the bottles, pack for the hospital?

I have a friend who is pregnant and she works for a company that has 12 employees. Shes not due until June, but she told him early to ensure that she would have maternity leave. Her boss told her she has 1 week with no pay. She doesnt mind not having the pay, but she is going to need more time than a week. She works in Pennsylvania - does anyone know the labor laws, or a website that could help her out?

I'm 43 and getting married for the second time - I have a 14 year old and my husband to be, has no kids and wants a child. Although I'm very healthy, don't look my age-- I'm scared to death because I keep hearing stories about how you run the risk of having a child with down-syndrome - and others say at 43 I should be ok, its 45 and older that you really have to worry - - Anyone have any experience or know of anyone who's had children in their 40's?

I am 22 and have been with my boyfriend for about a year. We have been living together for most of it. I recently found out that we are expecting our first baby. My boyfriend, myself, and his family are so excited. My mom and her family on the other hand are not. My mom told me I should have an abortion because I am too young and I'm ruining my life. She told me that I will never finish school because I am too lazy and unmotivated. And all of sudden she doesn't like my boyfriend. I just can't believe all of the hurtful things she said. I understand that she has the right to her opinion but she doesn't have the right to make me feel bad about myself. I cry almost everyday because I feel like i've lost my mom. I'm not sure if it will be this way forever of if she will ever come around. My boyfriend and I are financially and emotionally ready to support a child and I just wish she would realize that.

I am 7 months pregnant and have the wierdest craving ever. I crave water. I can not go more than 15 min w/o drinking it. I carry a water bottle every where I go, and the colder the better. Is this normal? Has any one else have this? Should I talk to the doctor?

I was supposed to start my period yesterday but it never arrived, so was exspecting it today and it has not come, my periods are very very regular and i am ttc and had sex all the right times, i was sick "vomitting" last night and the worst headache ever, as stated in one question i asked yesterday i would be 4weeks today "counting from my last menstrual period like DRs do" the last hour or so i have been feeling very icky and bloated "have been also feeling bloated all week" does this sound like pregnancy, i did take a test this morning but it was negative so will take another in a weeks time i think, also if i was pregnant when will this bloating and icky feeling end??

Why do people constantly ask if they are pregnant. Everybody has different signs of being pregnant. Do they not have a mom or insurance to ask a doctor or enough MONEY to buy a pregnancy test. People on here give the same answers everytime it is asked. Either they say one of the followings that I have listed above or stop having unprotected sex. GEEZ!

I just found out I'm pregnant this morning!! YEAHH!!!! That makes me exactly 9 days pregnant from the date of conception or by the Doctor's calculation 3 1/2 weeks along. Only took 2 months to get pregnant and I've kept it a secret from everyone at work so far (difficult in my office environment) but I am just smiling all the time!! They're gonna know something is up. Is it too soon to tell them?

Do you think its a bad idea to tell my husband's family and my family that I am pregnant when I am only 4 weeks along?

I have never been pregnant before so I don't if I should be worried about a possible miscarriage. I am in my mid 20's and my doctor said he has no reason to believe that I can't have a baby.

I guess I just don't want to call everyone and tell them I miscarried when I didn't wait until I was "safe" to tell them I was pregnant. But we want to share our news with everyone at Thanksgiving.

What do you think?

I am 16 weeks pregnant and a day. I haven't felt anything yet. Although my stomach is getting bigger. This is my first pregnancy. What exactly am I looking or feeling for to feel fetal movement. Didn't know if anyone would be able to explain this to me. Maybe I have already felt something and didn't know it was movement. Let me know. :)

I am on my 9th week of pregnancy ( with twins ) I have experiences pain in my pelvic area and cramps in my stomach I did apeak to a nurse who advise me this is normal .Many women experience it and especially with twins my stomach is expanding faster ...just curious how many other have had these symptons while pregnant or any others beside the usual nausea?

I had my period September 29th..... I had no October period and have no signs of one this month...... I am ttc, and was wonderng how far everyone was when they got a positive hpt?

I took a hpt yesterday but it was Negative.... My periods are usually normal between 24-27 days apart and im on day 43 with no period? Any input helps......
