Can you please tell me what exactly is meant by boarderline preg i have never heard of such a thing i know i am very early to test but is there a good chance i am preg since i do show 4hcg would i normally show hcg if i weren't preg. Thanks so much for your help!!!

I am not really to sure because I never heard of it, but maybe it means that you might be pregnant because you show a little but still a chance that you are not.

I think they typically want to see more than 5 to diagnose you as pregnant.
They probably are thinking they tested too early and need to wait intil later to test for sure. 8 DPO is very very early no matter what kind of test you do. Some women haven't even had implantation occur at 8 DPO.
Wait another few days and request another test or test yourself. hCG *should* double every 24-48 hours.

What do you mean you are "8dpo"? 8 days past ovulation?
Also, If you were confused by the answer you got, why did you not ask then and there what they meant by it?
