Do you think its a bad idea to tell my husband's family and my family that I am pregnant when I am only 4 weeks along?

I have never been pregnant before so I don't if I should be worried about a possible miscarriage. I am in my mid 20's and my doctor said he has no reason to believe that I can't have a baby.

I guess I just don't want to call everyone and tell them I miscarried when I didn't wait until I was "safe" to tell them I was pregnant. But we want to share our news with everyone at Thanksgiving.

What do you think?

First off Congrats!!! Really you can tell people anytime you want. It's your call. Alot of people wait until after the third month as a luck kinda thing because chances for any complications go down quite a bit after this time. Congrats again!!!

Good Luck to you!!

What I have done is told the parents and brothers and sisters when we first knew, but the rest of the family (aunts uncles etc..) when I was about three or four months along.

It was nice for me. When I did have a miscarriage only my immediate family needed to be told, and I wasn't bombarded with questions like if I were still pregnant with the outside family.

With my second pregnancy I talked to my doctor about it and he said that he advised waiting till the third month so that if something did happen (for the same reason I didn't want to tell everyone) you didn't have to talk about as much. He told me to tell immediate family and my boss. You always want to inform your boss so they know what is going on, like when you are sick.

The actually likely hood of a miscarriage is small so don't stress about you chances of having one, but for the sake of your emotions if it does leave it to the immediate family and your boss.

Congratulations! I think now is as good a time as any. I guess waiting till Thansgiving would be a good time to tell everyone at once so no one feels they're the last to know. And miscarriage should not even cross your mind now. Think happy thoughts girl, you're about to be a Mommy!!!! Nothing is better than that!!

Congratulation's !
I had am only 8 weeks now, but we told people right away, for 2 reasons...
1. We were too excited to keep it in, its our 1st!
2. If something did happen (still praying it doesnt) I would want the support around me & I couldnt hid that from my family.
But, just do whatever feels right to you, I dont beleive in luck or that you could be junxing yourself if you do tell early on....
Its in God's hands no matter when you spread the good news!!!
Best wishes to you !!!
