My cousin, who feels more like a sister, is having a baby around the begininng of March. We found out today it's a girl, and I get to name her.

It isn't absolute yet, but at the moment I was thinking of Mallory Celeste.

What do you think?

What do you think of the name Eila for a girl? (I just came across it and thought it was very pretty. It seems like a much less popular alternative to names like Ella and Ava.)

Does anyone have a reliable meaning for it? (I think it's a real Finnish name, not just a combination name.)

My mothers names is Lynette Eileen and my husbands mothers name is Janet Carmel. I don't like any of the names so I thought about combining them and came up with "Carlene/Carleen" but I cant think of a first or second name to go with it. Also we have a few Car names in the family (Carah, Carla, Kayla etc) So I wondered if anyone else had other combinations of these names that might sound good.
Any names are fine, even funny or silly ones, as I'm not pregnant yet just trying lol

We're pregnant with 2 little girls. We both love the name Alana but we can't seem to pick a middle name!

We'd like to honor our mothers with the girls' middle names. My mother is Brenda Jo. And his mother's is Kathleen.

We've thought about using Ava Kathleen and Alana_____? Any suggestions? Any other names that could go nicely with Alana?

Thank you !

Parents need to realize that their babies name will help them or hurt them throughout their life. A baby with a strange name, with a strange spelling, will be made fun of, and later in life, people will discriminate against them when they read their job applications.
A Utopia or Atari will be deemed less qualified than a Susan or Elaine. (Same as De'Shaw and Da'Nell versus David and James)
(please, parents, stick to standard spelling of traditional American baby names! Abigail, Susan, Julie, Teresa, James, David, Stanley, Scott, etc)

Paideia

"In ancient Greek, the word Paideia means "education" or "instruction." Paideia was "the process of educating man into his true form, the real and genuine human nature."[1]

Since self-government was important to the Greeks, Paideia combined with ethos (habits) made a man good and made him capable as a citizen or a king.[2] This education was not about learning a trade or an art, which the Greeks called banausos, and was a mechanical task unworthy of a learned citizen, but was about training for liberty (freedom) and nobility (The Beautiful). Paideia is the cultural heritage that is continued through the generations."

I'm not pregant yet but my husband and I are trying to conceive and were already thinking of names. We already have a few names picked out and I would like to know what your thoughts are on these names and if you have any other thoughts or ideas on names and middle names.

For boys:
Ian Gerald (my husband and I are sort of leaning toward this name)
Chase Gerald(my husband loves this name and I'm starting to like this name too)
Brycen/Bryson Gerald

The middle name Gerald is my husband's first name so we want to keep the middle name as Gerald but if you have any other thoughts for names that would go with the middle name of Gerald that would be appreciated!!

For girls:
Kalissa Lynn
Biance Lynn
Shayna Lynn
Tandra Leanne
Shaylee Miranda

I also like the name Delaney and Gracelyn but I can't think of any middle names. Do you have any ideas for middle names for these two names?

Last year I had a a dughter, however she was stillborn. We named her Lilly May. I am pregnant again and we were joyed to find out we are expecting twins. We just learned that the sexes of the babies are a boy and a girl. We were thinking Calla Grace for the girl after the Calla Lilly, which would be after her sister

I am expecting a baby boy due in April. I have a daughter whose name is Reva and my boyfriend has a son named Rylee. We would really like to name this baby something that begins with the letter R, as well. We want a name that is not very popular but not to strange. We are not having much luck coming up with a name at this point and are open for suggestions.

I had a name all picked out for my first daughter when I was still expecting her, but then when she was born the name just did not suit her at all! I had to quickly choose another while in the hospital.

Then when my son was born we already had a few possibilities, but waited until he was a day old to get to "know" him a little and see what name fit him.

So many of us spend hours, agonizing and poring over baby name books while we are pregnant. Have any of you tossed out all the possible names upon the baby's birth and picked something totally different once your baby was born?

That's going to be my nephew's name. My brother Augustus already sign the birth certificate. He was born couple days early. So I guess what I really want to say earlier is that he is having a boy and his name is Exsavian Blaze. So do you guys like it and what do you guys think of the name. And his older brother's name is Excelsior Knight.

No I'm not having any kids yet...I'm too young to start a family, lol. But I like:

Christine - Daniel
Natalia - Alexander
Christine - Clara
Christine - Charlotte
Clara - Charlotte
Charlotte - Cheryth (pronounced share-reth)
Sophia - Natalia
Daniel - Gabriel

I'm no good at boy-boy pairs...most of my cousins are girls and I don't even have any brothers. I'm into classic names, as you can see ;)
