Personally, i prefer Kaelyn, then Kailyn. Kaelynn would also be cute. I don't really like Kahlan very much. If you go by actual pronunciation rules, Kahlan would be pronounced Kah (like Ahhh....)--lan (like ran). It's not spelled correctly. But if you like the spelling and you want it to be pronounced like that, go ahead. I still like the other better myself.

I personally feel both names are a bit over-used, though Emily is still cute and pretty.

The middle name choice I don't like at all, it's too made up and trendy. If you do use it, then I recommend the spellings Kaelyn or Kaylynn.

As for the spelling Kahlan, that doesn't look right at all. I strongly disapprove of using that spelling, because it doesn't sound like Kaelyn and it it's just a jumbled mass of letters. There is no name in existence with that spelling, definitely made up, and it isn't even good or pretty.

I would pronounce the name Kaelyn (KAY-lin) and Kahlan (CAR-lahn). I think the first name (Kaelyn) is much more pretty and flows with the name Emily better. Because of it's similarity with the name Caitlin (another name I *love*), Kaelyn might be nice spelt as Cailin, Kailyn (like you suggested. But this spelling might create confusion about pronunciation) or Cailyn... And because it sounds like Kaylee it would be cute spelt as Kaylen/Kaylin. But I actually like the spelling Kaelyn the best. Here are some more suggestions:

Emily Caitlin

Emily Jasmine/Jasmin

Emily Ashlynn

Emily Madison

Emily Hayden

Emily Teagan

Emily Mikayla

Emily Loren/Lauren

Emily Kiara

Emily Katherine

Emily Madelyn

Tell your husband sorry! I don't agree at all with him. Kahlan looks like it should be pronounced Ka- Laaan instead of Kay- Lynn. I like your spelling best or Kaylynn because though Kailyn is cute it looks like Kaitlyn but someone forgot the T by mistake.

Emily Kaelyn is cute as pie!

I would go with either Emily Kaelyn or Emily Kailyn. Its a really pretty name. I think I like Kaelyn better.

Congratulations!
I think Kahlan would get mispronounced too much as "ka-lin" with out the "kay" sound. I like Kaelyn or Kaylin the best. There is also Kalen, Kaylen, Kalyn, or Kailen. (or you could use a C, but I see you like K better).

Kahlan looks funny so don't go with that.

In order of preference (best to least fave) I would spell it
Kailyn, Kaylin or Kaelyn.

Don't spell it with two 'Y's (kaylynn) as it looks too confusing and 'busy'

best of luck and congrats on your little girl

Cailin is my preferred spelling. I think Emily Cailin is pretty but there's something which doesn't quite flow. Maybe it's the two -il sounds in the middle of both names.

Emily Caitlin fixes that.. or Emily Kay, Emily Catherine, Emily Cate, Emily Cassandra.

i like Caelyn, yet some would mispronounce it (SAY-lyn) so Kaelyn would desire to be the final guess. you additionally can spell it Kailyn or Kaylyn, in case you needed, and Michelle is a effective middle call.

I think you should go with Kaelyn. It is more feminine. Kahlan seems very masculine to me. Over all I think it's a beautiful name anyways! Hope this helps you.
