I want to name the baby Joseph after my dad, Walsh after his uncle (more like a dad than an uncle, really), but I also love the name Braedon. How about Braedon Joseph Walsh Costello? Too much?

My husband and I have been trying to conceive for 9 months now, with no luck so far. My sister accidentally got pregnant (and married the guy). Anyways, she and I are very close. I have told her many times before the baby names that my husband and I have already chosen for our children (whenever we finally conceive). Well, now she has decided to name her baby the name that I had chosen. I feel very betrayed. Her best friend did the same thing to her years ago and my sister never forgave her. How could she do the same to me? Should I just forget about it, or am I right to feel this way?

I need some help thinking of boys names. His middle name will be James (last name peters) as this is my husbands middle name. I liked Jordan, but not sure if this is too 'girly', and would like some other options. Any ideas?? Something not too conservative but lets not go too crazy creative!

As a teacher, I am longing for the days of Sarah and Michael. What happened to the glory days of pronoucable, realistic, and literary correctness in baby names? Was it just too much to name kids Kyle?

I am so tired of not being able to read a name without a parent-provided pronunciation key. If your baby name requires any sort of explaination, it is a terrible choice. If your baby name is not found in the top 1000 on the social security list, it is a terrible choice.

My question is simple: What happened to baby names? When did creativity become a prerequisite for child birth. Pick a name, spell it correctly, or plan for a college and therapy fund.

I am from a foreign country and my nickname is Kris in my home country. I want to give people that same name as my nick name here in the US, but I am afraid I will be teased coz it sounds like a female name. Can I use Kris, as a male, and not be ridiculed at?
